Eva Warigia – Executive Leader in Private Capital, Former Executive Director of EAVCA

Eva Warigia is a distinguished business executive known for her influential leadership in advancing private equity and venture capital across East Africa. As Executive Director of the East Africa Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (EAVCA), she led industry advocacy, intelligence, networking, and capacity-building efforts across the region.

With over 14 years of experience operating at the intersection of finance and development, Eva played a pivotal role in scaling EAVCA’s membership to over 100 member firms, spanning East Africa, the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East. She significantly raised awareness of private capital as an investable asset class by engaging regulators, institutional investors, and angel networks to mobilize regional capital into alternative assets.

Eva began her tenure at EAVCA as Co-Executive Director—focused on advocacy, data intelligence, policy engagement, and member outreach—before assuming the role of Executive Director in 2021. Prior to her work at EAVCA, she served as a senior consultant at Africa Practice (East Africa), advising regional public- and private-sector clients on investor relations and strategy.

Eva Warigia now serves as Associate Director, Investor Relations – Africa at New Forests, a global asset manager specializing in nature-based real assets and natural capital strategies. In this role, she leads investor engagement for the African Forestry Impact Platform (AFIP), which targets raising up to US $500 million to scale sustainable forestry initiatives across Sub-Saharan Africa
