CAMPEA welcomes Boost Africa to lead Jury Committee for the second edition of the Central Africa regional category at SuperReturn Africa GP Awards

The Central Africa Markets Private Equity Association (CAMPEA) is honored to welcome David van Dijk as a distinguished member of the Jury Committee for the SuperReturn Africa GP Awards for Central African Fund Manager of the Year 2024, a regional category in joint organisation with CAMPEA.

David brings a wealth of expertise as Team Lead of Boost Africa’s Technical Assistance Program, a flagship initiative supported by the African Development Bank (AfDB), the European Investment Bank (EIB), and the European Commission. In this role, he supports early-stage African fund managers and their portfolio companies, providing critical guidance on investment readiness, governance, and sustainable growth.

As co-founder and former executive director of the African Business Angel Network (ABAN), David has been a driving force in building Africa’s early-stage investment ecosystem. His leadership has contributed to strengthening angel networks, advancing entrepreneurial ecosystems, and mobilizing capital for startups across the continent.

David also serves in advisory roles with multiple ecosystem initiatives, bringing a pan-African perspective on venture finance, innovation, and impact investing. His unique blend of experience in venture capital, private equity, and ecosystem development makes him a valuable voice in the GP Awards selection process.

Central African Fund Manager of the Year

Through CAMPEA’s partnership with SuperReturn Africa, the GP Awards now feature a dedicated regional award category: Central African Fund Manager of the Year. This award recognizes excellence, leadership, and innovation among General Partners operating in Central Africa, highlighting their contribution to both regional development and Africa’s broader investment story.

As a Jury Committee member, David will help ensure that this award reflects the highest standards of performance and impact—honoring fund managers who combine strong financial returns with a commitment to sustainability, governance, and inclusive growth.

His participation underscores the importance of Central Africa in Africa’s private equity landscape and reaffirms CAMPEA’s mission to spotlight the region’s investment champions on a global stage.
